"Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect."

Video games are incredible in the way they can present visuals, audio and story simultaneously and interactively; working together (an art in itself) they create an experience that is greater than the sum of its parts. After having played a good game, you can take merely one piece such as the music and not only enjoy that for what it is - it will also evoke memories and emotions of the entire experience and all the other art forms it was composed of.
I say this only to explain - as I've felt compelled to figure out for myself after the fact - why I have such a strong love for game music, and why I do what I do. I have no "professional" musical ambitions or desire to be some kind of guitar hero or artist; can't read sheet music, don't use tabs and barely touch my instruments aside from when recording.

All I have is genuine nerdy passion, a relatively good and always improving ear, and some inevitable accumulated recording/editing/mixing experience. I'm just a gamer, in an apartment, trying to have fun and make some music.

Despite my general preference for working alone with what I want, when I want, I consider myself very lucky and honored to have collaborated with several artists of whom I consider myself a fan:

8-bit Duane's Action Adventure World                               OC ReMix - Maverick Rising & BadAss: Boss Themes: Volume II
